I’m finishing up the last of my packing and arrangements before my flight leaves this afternoon and finding it hard to believe that I leave today. As this day has crept closer I’ve tried to mentally prepare myself for Ghana, but it’s been difficult. I’ve read travel guides and children’s books about the culture, the people, the food, what to see, etc., but until I step off the plane in Accra, I don’t think I’ll truly understand what my trip is going to entail. I’m excited, nervous and a little bit sleep-deprived!
Plus, I’m trying to figure out what it is that I haven’t packed yet. But I’ll just have to figure that out when I get to Ghana.
One thing I do know is that I have an immense amount of support from family and friends back home, encouraging me to take hold of this opportunity and make the most of it. And, for that, I am so thankful.
So, now back to chaos for which I cannot complain. Once I have internet in Accra I’ll be sure to post about my plane rides, as I’m sure there will be some stories to tell.
